I Am Great Empowering Greatness For A Dream-Infused Life The Power Of Words

Posted by Dreamer On April - 28 - 2009 Comments

They almost divided this country, ripping it from the desolate foundations it had been built upon.
They shook the foundations of the Constitution, challenged the Justices of the Supreme Court of the United States, and changed the procedures of the criminal justice system.

They showed that they could rip through a four-foot-thick curtain called hate, and tear open the walls that separated the races over 50 years ago, proving once again that, “All men are created equal.”

They never cease to reveal the strength of this nation, when faced with someone who wants to destroy it. They are the single greatest weapon, yet very few hold the power to control them.

Though the true secret of greatness, they are the cause of more destruction than the unleashing a contained blaze.

Tollie Imagine

And what are they? They are our words and these words are the language that we use to speak and to communicate. Sometimes they communicate more than we wanted to say and sometimes there is something lost between the communication of those words. Without realizing it, every word that is spoken breathes. In seconds, it can wound more deeply than merely piercing the flesh – it can scar the soul. If lucky, that wound will not burrow further and kill its victim’s soul. Headlines continue to prove all the destruction that words can uncage, and once they are on the prowl, they become hard to lure, trap, and cage again.

Eyes have witnessed them do more damage than the results of nuclear fission.

They have been known to pierce the heart with a knife of pain.

They can part the sea of hate, bring down its walls using a single brick, yet each day twice as many walls seal it in to simmer.

They can unleash the power of hell with a single command, yet the strength from the oppressed is hardly ever mentioned.

They empower those who are strong, and leave the weak powerless still.

Tollie

They evoke violence and sustain the force of a riot.

They can tear down walls with truth, and rebuild them with lies.

They stir a kettle of hate, making its soup seem sweet, but its aftertaste sour.

They spew anger and hatred, etch it on one’s brain, then fire a loaded pistol of spite.

They create fickle crowds and control them like a puppeteer.

They are more vicious than Eminem’s lyrics, relentlessly attacking without any forewarning.

Sharper than any double-edged sword, they can spear the soul being of a man and produce it on a stick.

They result in stored up emotions, which are stored in a sealed and unseen closet that explodes when full, causing a severity of damage one cannot even begin to describe.

They can produce a deafening silence in a building more crowded than The New York Stock Exchange, echo through its stillness, creep between the cracks of its walls and stun like a cattle prod – all from one person with a mission who dared to step up.

They are comprised of more angles than a diamond is capable of having.

They are able to wage war quicker than the Arabs and the Jews.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt said, “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.” People seem to focus on fear, instead of seeking to overcome it. Fear is a superstitial emotion that must be created by something else – as in words. However, humorously enough, it is ironic that the words that entangle one in fear come from the same place where strength is formed and kept until it perceives a command for necessity.

[SinglePic not found]

Unfortunately, these words know terror as well as a mother knows her own child.

They know of the self-destruction fear brings, and disguise it as candy on a stick, ready to chain the hands of any individual who falls as prey to its trap.

With a single thought, they can create an atmosphere of fear that could bring nations to their knees.

They can send a chill of ice down one’s spine, and make this world comprised of reality fall away.

Words of fear prowl like a lion searching the weak and insecure, for they know and hate the strength of opposition, because it gives them no hope to prevail.

The victorious know that the very words, which can consume one with utmost fear, never cease to stare it straight in the eyes with powerful words of strength, in order to challenge, conquer, and overcome it, for there is another fear – fear of self.

Emily Elizabeth Dickinson, one of many great American poets, said: “Hope is the thing with feathers — that perches in the soul — And sings the tune without words — and never stops, at all.”

Even if one can’t see it at first, no matter what, hope always prevails. It provides the encouragement that even if the battle was lost; the war will still be won.

They have the power to calm, part the sea of despair, and wash over hurt with a wave of comfort.

They can heal a broken heart with a single breath, and seal an oath forever.

They are of more value than the oil supply of the United States of America, sometimes costing an arm and a leg, and at times – everything or nothing.

Their mercy soars on the wings of an eagle, blessing those who need it with the swiftness of a cheetah, and before its source is found, the eagle is gone.

They provide hope for an unknown future, and give endurance to face tomorrow.

They endlessly display evidence that dictates how year after year, there is nothing that has been thrown at one of the most powerful countries in the world, the United States of America – this great nation – that has not made it stronger.

They prove that when the chips are down, the ropes are tied, and one’s back is up against the wall, their whisper gives that one person the strength to break through those ropes that bind them, in order to make them persevere harder.

They work with actions to determine character, yet never cease to define one’s personality.

They can dry one’s tears quicker than the desert can evaporate the rain.

They can coo and soothe, like a mother comforts her crying child to sleep.

They can bring love and forgiveness when the world around them said there was none.

They make one feel that not all is lost when the last soldier falls.

When they cause one to fall, haunt one’s every inch of peace, and only feed a fire of self-criticism, they suddenly become someone disguised as an angel, who offers them a helping hand and encourages the individual to get back up on their feet.

They become that last thread of hope one holds on to, and although everybody else said that all was lost, within seconds that thread becomes an entire spool.

They never forget to let one know that if the person will bring the shovel, God will move the mountain.

Words can be so little, yet cost so much more than intended. They steal, kill, hurt, love, comfort, emit fear, motivate, strengthen, weaken, and hate, all at the same time. They tear down walls, build bridges, kill with hate, comfort with love, and cause fear. They can overcome fear, steal our self-worth, kill the soul, wrap their loving arms around the helpless, and show mercy to the merciless. They aspire one to achieve success, because there is no greater feeling than knowing that you have overcome all of the obstacles thrown in your path, for when you were confronted by them, you only leaped higher.

The secret of greatness is said to be many things. Some say that it means money, power, an executive position, and while this all may be true, there is one thing that people often miss – the words, that these people speak, or chose not to speak. That CEO position for a company or a seat on the Board of Directors or even being voted as District Attorney was not offered to an individual the second that they walked through the door. They had to prove worthy and prove that their words were not hollow and empty, but stronger than steel. Their words had power.

Always remember to speak as if these words were your last, talk as if this was your last breath, and communicate as if this was your last hour. Make sure that your words never cease to leave a powerful impact on those you come in contact to. Words create the stories that are told… make certain that your words leave behind an unforgettable tale.

Make The Decision To Change Your Life And Create Your Dreams

Posted by Dreamer On April - 25 - 2009 Comments

I was out here in this beautiful setting riding around on a scooter. We stopped for lunch and as we were talking about our future hopes and dreams, I kept recalling so many emails about these same topics. So after Katie convinced me to take a quick moment and write this out on my phone I wanted to share a quick thought with you. I guess it was something I needed to stop and say.

I keep hearing over and over how I don’t understand. Without getting into details I can assure you I have been through a lot in my life. Dealing with weight, image, eating disorders, loss and severe financial and family issues. Even in times like today, having cars repossessed, bankruptcy, foreclosure, and even a lawsuit, I still learned from my parents to give to others, always serve first. If you put others first you will always be taken care of. This last Christmas we had no gifts we used what money we had to give to others who needed it more then we did.

I quit my job during all this because I did not like it. My passion was not there, so going through the motions was only going to cause me unhappiness and therefore only bring me more of the same. I had a small online business some of us started and although at the time doing very well I also hatted it. So after spending a couple thousand dollars having a new store designed and implemented, I shut it down. I built some new things that were fun.

Tollie a beautiful Sanibel Island Pathway to paradise

I slept in my truck and went on the road to speak, write, and meet people. I did whatever I wanted to and was working towards my passion. Let’s just say today, everything is breaking wide open. I don’t have to worry about money which I never should have because the more I don’t worry about it the more that comes in. I give more everyday to others, I do what I want when I want. I travel, have been asked to be involved in amazing projects. I have had the opportunity to work with some of my favorite actors and musicians.

I have been with some truly amazing individuals including my friend today who is a dreamer. She is with me for who I am and for how I treat others and treat her. My point is that yes, I understand what you are going through, however, it’s how you react and let it affect you. I used to work my butt off consumed with not letting down all those looking to me to provide for them. All I did was cause misery, gain weight, lose my passion and make less money.

People love to be around me because of how I make them feel. They love my dream-infused life and outlook. However, for the regular 9-5 folks who see me as nothing more than a non-college graduate loser because my life is not what they see as correct I can not change their mind nor should I try. I got criticized when things were REALLY tough for not stopping my dreaming and go get a real job and do the right thing. Go work and be a real man and take care of your family. Well, I did that in the past and it wasn’t right for me. Instead I went even deeper into my own world until it became my reality.

So, when people say I live in a fantasy world, I’m UN-reasonable, and I live a lucky or charmed life I smile and agree, because yes, I do, because I created it and so can you. I feel much better, ok were off before the flying rats, or tourists call seagulls crap on my scooter.

Even Before Puberty Kids Harbor Body Image Concerns

Even Before Puberty, Kids Harbor Body Image Concerns:

www.TollieInternational.com/IamPowerful
Even at a young age, many children are dissatisfied with their bodies. Body dissatisfaction, which involves negative thoughts and feelings about one’s own body, can put kids at risk for disordered eating habits such as binge eating or using laxatives or vomiting to lose weight.

Researchers from the University of Turku in Finland investigated whether weight during childhood affected a preteen’s body satisfaction.

The study included 205 girls and 230 boys who’d been participating in a heart disease study and had height and weight measurements taken yearly since 7 months of age. At 8 years of age, the children were shown eight drawings that depicted children ranging in size from very thin to very overweight. The kids in the study noted which one of the figures looked the most like them. They also noted which figure they’d most like to look like.

The results? Eight-year-old girls tended to be more dissatisfied with their bodies than boys. The drawings they chose to represent their real and ideal sizes were significantly thinner than those chosen by the boys. Researchers also noted that weight gain during early childhood was linked to children satisfaction with their bodies. Children who wished to be thinner at 8 years of age had been heavier than the other children between 7 months and 3 years of age. And compared to other children, children who wished to be thinner at 8 years of age also had gained weight more rapidly between 3 and 8 years of age.

What This Means to You: The results of this study indicate that concerns about body image can start well before puberty. During the early childhood years, kids may be aware of their bodies – and whether they’re heavier than the societal ideal.

As a parent, you can help your child to develop a positive body image, even during the early childhood years. Helping your child make nutritious food choices and developing an active lifestyle is also a good way to support your child in maintaining or getting to a healthy weight. Today is a crucial time to take a stand for your child. My greatest thrill is being blessed with the opportunity to serve and watch someone empower themselves and dream.

Sadly, we live in a culture where dreaming and thinking outside the normal is looked down upon. Truly to enable yourself to become who you desire you must be empowered to deal with obstacles, and many forms of criticism and teasing. So, starting at an early age building your child’s confidence and image is crucial.

Truth is nothing is impossible. However, being a dreamer and daring to create something new and powerful will always be met with resistance. I would encourage you to make sure you empower your child, also encourage the right friends who will always empower their choices and cheer them on. Body image and life sometimes becomes one in the same, sadly. However, with the right encouragement their dreams will come true. Your child will be able to hear hurtful words even from those they felt were friends and feel nothing except excitement for their passion. Remember usually those who only try to tear someone down are those who are the most afraid, sad, unhappy, and they need to be encouraged also.

Today, we are in the midst of the greatest comeback the world has ever seen. Who we become is determined by our character and values we share. I choose to only give love, support, and empower those I am around. What will you choose to give to others?

Tollie International Dream-Infused New Projects To Empower Teens

Posted by Dreamer On April - 9 - 2009 Comments

Tollie International Highlights of upcoming projects:

TollieBackground
I wanted to write a quick post about some of the exciting projects we are developing. Over the last couple months we have tried a lot of new concepts. We have received feedback from you, and also many questions regarding certain projects. Yes, of course rumors also have been interesting.

In the next couple weeks we will be finalizing and bringing online our new web portals. The need to separate our efforts is critical in order to effectively allow the tools and resources to address critical needs. We are building one major hub which will be located at TollieInternational.com. There will be separate sites for my personal website TollieSchmidt.com also separate sites for Anorexia, Bulimia and eating disorders, Obesity, depression and image. Also, personal empowerment in order to fully achieve your Passion and Dreams.

All sites will be a dream-infused experience, allowing our artistic creativity, music, effects and multi-media enriched environments. However, this will not be a finished project only temporary. We are still bringing together a complete dream portal and community. I feel having so many talented teens with a pure passion for their craft deserves an outlet to showcase, offer services, and have access to established professionals in their field. This will be a place where the “age” discrimination does not exist. A Dream-Infused environment where you are encouraged to create outside of societies illusion of “inside the box thinking”.

July 3 2009 we will launch Journey of a Dreamer. This is a dream I can not discuss details of. We have been invited to bring Journey of a Dreamer to many locations around the world and are still contacted about adding dates. Journey of a Dreamer will spark a new passion and dreams. The world will be seen through new eyes, and realization of what is truly possible!

I am personally going to try and create some new videos on YouTube at “Onlyadreamer152“, also use these short videos to test new ideas. However, with Journey of a Dreamer and schedules, time will be limited. Also, I have been asked to be on the Judge Panel in December for the National Competition for a Beauty Pageant. A opportunity to judge on inner beauty not only outer beauty, I am excited at the trend this could create.

We are also, still in the process of launching a few shows we have been developing. Shows which you will laugh your butt off and also, create emotions and dreams. One thing I have truly been blessed with over the last couple months is personally removing self-inflicted boundaries. I have taken a personal role in all the creative process in our projects. Rather than just share the vision, I have studied, read, and gone to school to further my personal abilities. Through all the photos I have been creating it has taken trial and error but also opened the flood gates of more creative expressions I would not have known unless I did the projects myself. Same, with the web development, learning minor code, how the Internet really functions and the marketing behind successful businesses.

I share this with you because all your dreams are possible. The only limits you have are those you have placed upon yourself. I would urge you to become educated and personally involved in your passion. Doing so opens your artistic dreams and opens business opportunities.

I have never had so many opportunities to come and photograph events, portfolios, produce, act and even model. I have never had the honor of helping so many and serving. This makes it impossible to ever feel “down” or “depressed” because all I have to do is read my emails, comments, speak to people at events. Hear from people who have made massive changes and created passion, hear from people who love being around me, cherish time spent with a dreamer. This by itself allows me to shut out negative voices, experiences, and people who find their only happiness in trying to inflict pain on someone else. However, they have no affect, I will not give them the permission or time, to bring their sadness and misery on myself or those I am around.

Our purpose and Passion is clear. We are to serve others first. With pure love; and a passionate heart we will create a ripple effect which will be felt across the world. Dreams will be unleashed, the illusion will fall and when others say we are in a depression or recession the dreamers will stand and show that the world is in the midst of the greatest comeback in history. Feel the blood start pumping through your veins, feel the passion, this is life, this is dreaming, and together we will share this party. There is no end, the beginning has already begun and the first step, was the first dance, and the music and band has just begun!

5 Steps To Create A Dream-Infused Life Today

Posted by Dreamer On April - 9 - 2009 Comments

5 Steps To Create The Life Of Your Dreams

Dreams and the World in Your Hand

I’m often asked, “Tollie, you are a big believer in living the life of your dreams. How do I go about creating the life of your dreams, when I don’t know where to start? I had plans for my life but somehow I’ve ended up where I am right now – in a relationship that is unfulfilled, a job that I don’t like, unfit and I never seem to have enough money, regardless of how hard I work.”

Well the steps to creating the life of your dreams are simple and if you apply these 5 steps consistently, you will find your life changing for the better.

1. Imagine your life as if it was ideal: If you were living the life of your dreams, what would it look like? Who would be in your life? Who would not be in your life anymore? What would you be doing? Where would you live? How would you spend your time? What car would you drive? What kind of house would be living in? How much energy would you have? Spend the time to get as clear as possible on this even if it may not be perfect the first time you do this. Just stick with it. Most people fail to create the life of their dreams because they don’t know what it looks like to begin with. That would be like driving a car without knowing where you want to go… and wondering which way to turn.

2.Get Clear on your motivation: Once you know what you want, ask yourself why? Why do you want to create the life of your dreams? Is it just because it’s a passing fantasy or are you committed? Is it to provide a better life for your family? Is to enjoy more of the finer things in life? Is it because you want to leave behind a legacy? Are you just sick and tired of living this way and settling for a boring, frustrating life with no passion or juice? What is it for you? Get clear on it because it is your motivation that will get you through the tough times.

3.Get the right team around you: Success is never achieved alone. Who do you need to enroll into your new vision for your life? It might be your partner, your family and your friends to start with. Remember, who you spend time with is who you become. I would also strongly recommend getting a mentor who can guide you along your journey. You might not be able to afford personal mentoring with this person at the start, but perhaps you can buy him lunch, read her books or attend a weekend seminar, which leads me to step 4.

4.Get new information: Albert Einstein said “You cannot solve a problem with the same level of thinking that created it.” That’s just a fancy way of saying that your current knowledge and skills have brought you your current situation in life. If you want to change your situation, you need to get some new information and new skills. That’s the only way you can begin the process of changing your life.

5. Commit and take action: That might now sound very sexy but it is true. So many people want to make a change in their life and they will do the first 4 steps and wonder why nothing has changed. That’s because nothing changes until you change it. Nothing changes until you take the action, consistently. It’s easy to be motivated for a day but you will only achieve the life of your dreams if you can stick with it, take action and continue to learn.

Changing your life and creating the life of your dreams is a simple process if you follow these 5 steps. Of course it will take some time so enjoy the journey. That’s often the best part. Finally, I’ll leave you with something one of my first mentors told me. He said,”Who you become in the next 5 years is the sum total of the books you read, the seminars you attend, the actions you take and the people you spend time with.” In other words if you follow these 5 steps, over time you will achieve the life of your dreams.

Tollie’s Top 10 Steps To Make a Massive Impact In Your Life Today Empower Your Dreams

Posted by Dreamer On April - 6 - 2009 Comments

Tollie

I am trying to answer back many emails in one shot with this quick article. So many feel my story is inspirational, and I am truly amazing person for all I do and give to others. Honestly, I’m just a dreamer who believes strongly in always putting others first, giving all I can and no matter the outcome of the situation living my life like this in the end will make a difference.

Sure, I have had my set backs. I have had my share of mistakes in my past. Same as you, I am not those mistakes, I am who I believe I am.

Here are my top 10 ways of making a massive impact and change in your life today!

1) By altering your body’s physiology, you can achieve an immediate change of your emotional state. The mind will follow whatever state your physical body is in and not vice-versa.

2) Ask specific questions of yourself (in your self-talk) to direct and control your attention to the various aspects of the human experience. The quality of your life is in direct proportion to the quality of the questions you ask of yourself.

3) Get leverage to create personal change by associating an old behavior with massive pain and the desired new behavior with massive pleasure. Im a big believer in the pain/pleasure principles of life and this applies in business as well.

4) When you get stuck, interrupt your limiting pattern by doing something totally unexpected. I have had many, many, many, emails lately about relationships. Many, who felt my little quick videos moved them. As, I try to answer back my main thing is to not focus on the past, recognize when you are and realize you are creating this. Do something crazy, start laughing historically, IT WORKS! Then remember what makes you amazing.

5) You can condition your behavior by visualizing it over and over again. This is not exactly unique. However, it tends to cause so many problems. I’ll use my own experience as an example. I’m a dreamer, and today many of the opportunities I felt I would have had years ago are now flowing in. However, why did I not give up or stop? I had plenty of people say I was a joke and would never amount to anything. I worked many different jobs and had people look down on me because they felt their status or position gave them that right. I’ve had people in my past think badly of me, or felt I would never amount to anything. I have had people email me, comment on me, leave random messages on my phone trying to make me feel like a failure. The reason I never stopped is I don’t live in the “NOW” when it comes to my dreams. I only visualize, feel, can completely imagine the completed action. So, to me it is complete, the timing is one less thing to think about.

6) Goal-setting strategy: Know your end outcome; Take massive intelligent action; Have sensory-acuity to notice if you are getting the results you desire and if not; change your approach; and change *until* you get your end outcome. Measurable results, and continually tweaking them until you have your ultimate outcome.

7) Create a “Compelling future” by vividly imagining your end result to generate enthusiasm and power within yourself. The past does not equal the future. Find beliefs that support your goals and desires.

8) Youth is Power! Even if you don’t have fancy degrees, your youth can still mean power, flexibility and opportunity for your life. Get in better shape, it changes your life. Right now I’m in the best shape and feeling in my life. I love how I look, feel, my energy, and my lust for life. Vain or not, I like the attention I receive when I go out, it only helps make me feel wanted, and appreciated which are vital “wants” for anyone.

9) Constant never ending improvement and standards. Only you decide your limits, only you decide who you are, and will become. Who you are today, magnify in the future.

10) NLP can be useful. NLP stands for Neuro Linguistic Programming and there are many NLP undertones in what I teach and use. I strongly suggest you look around at diffrent NLP books and programs, you will be amazed at the power you can create.

Diet Troubles Little Hungry Here Are 8 Ways To Tame A Raging Appetite

Diet Help 8 Ways To Tame A Raging Appetite By: Tollie

www.TollieInternational.com/ThinspirationBurgerKing

Any time we make the decision to change our diet, and eat better the
most common cause of failure is cravings. When you starve yourself for hours, cravings will call. And you will answer.

1. Guarantee Success:

How long do you think you can stick to a new plan? Find a duration that you’re 100 percent confident you can achieve, even if it’s just a couple of days. Once you make it your goal date, start the process over. This not only establishes the notion that you can be successful, but also gives you a chance to start noticing that eating better makes you feel better, reinforcing your desire to continue.
www.TollieInternational.com/ExercisingPig
2. Find More Motivation:

If your diet’s only purpose is to help you finally achieve six-pack abs or even just a two-pack, it may be hard to stick with for the long haul. The solution? Provide yourself with additional motivators, monitor migraines, heartburn, acne, canker sores, and sleep quality, along with common measures of cardiovascular health. Discovering that your new diet improves the quality of your life and health can be powerful motivation.

3. Don’t Dwell On Mistakes:

Okay, you over-indulged. What’s the next step? Forget about it! One meal doesn’t define your diet, so don’t assume that you’ve failed or fallen off the wagon. A simple rule is to follow any cheat meal with at least five healthy meals and snacks. That ensures that you’ll be eating right more than 80 percent of the time.

4. Eat Breakfast:

Sure, you’ve heard this one before. But, consider that if you sleep for 6 to 8 hours and then skip breakfast, your body is essentially running on fumes by the time you reach work. And that sends you desperately seeking sugar, which is easy to find. The most convenient foods are often the same ones you should be avoiding. That’s because they’re usually packed with sugar, or other fast digesting carbohydrates. Which leads to our next strategy.

5. Install Food Regulators:

It’s time for a regime change. Clean out your cupboard and fridge, then restock them with almonds and other nuts, cheese, fruit and vegetables, and canned tuna, chicken, and salmon. And do the same at work. By eliminating snacks that don’t match your diet but providing plenty that do, you’re far less likely to find yourself at the doughnut-shop drive-thru or the vending machine.
www.TollieInternational.com/Cravings
6. Think Like A Biochemist:

It’s true: They make all-natural cookies. But even if a cookie is made with organic cane juice (the hippie name for sugar), it’s still junk food. Ditto for lots of “health foods” in the granola aisle. That’s because hippie sweeteners raise your blood sugar just like the common white stuff. If you’re going to eat a cookie, accept that you’re deviating from your diet plan, and then revert back to your diet afterward. By convincing yourself that it’s healthy, you’re only encouraging a bad habit.

7. Recognize Hunger:

Have a craving for sweets, even though you ate just an hour ago? Imagine eating a large sizzling steak instead. If you’re truly hungry, the steak will sound good, and you should eat. If it doesn’t sound good, your brain is playing tricks on you. Change your environment, which can be easy as doing 15 pushups or finding a different task to focus on.

8. Take A Logical Approach:

Before you take a bite of food, consider whether it’s moving you one step closer to your goals or one step farther away. This won’t stop you from making a poor choice every single time, but it does encourage the habit of thinking long-term about what you’re eating right now. The payoff is that 80 to 90 percent of the time, you’ll make a better decision.

So by now you’ve seen the new food labels which the FDA mandated for food manufacturers. Food manufacturers must include the grams of trans fat on all nutrition labels starting back at the beginning of last year.

This means that as inventory is replaced in the grocery stores, you should start to see grams of trans fat listed on all packages from now on, providing you with an easier way to avoid them.

Now, if you were like I was my only understanding of fat was it was bad. All fat, if the ingredient said fat, then you don’t eat it. Then again, that philosophy didn’t work for me since I ballooned up to 500 pounds. I also, know I’m not alone considering the massive “fat-free” kick so many brands started marketing.

If you’ve never heard of good trans fats before, let me explain in a bit.
First, the bad trans fats I’m referring to are the man-made kind. These are represented by any artificially hydrogenated oils. The main culprits are margarine, shortening, and partially hydrogenated oils that are in most processed foods, junk foods, and deep fried foods.

These hydrogenated oils are highly processed using harsh chemical solvents like hexane (a component of gasoline), high heat, pressure, have a metal catalyst added, and are then deodorized and bleached.

A small % of the solvent is allowed to remain in the finished oil. This has now become more of an industrial oil rather than a food oil, but somehow the FDA still allows the food manufacturers to put this crap in our food at huge quantities, even with the well documented health dangers.

Ok, after having trash talked the man-made trans fats, let me clearly state that there IS such a thing as healthy natural trans fats. Natural trans fats are created in the stomachs of ruminant animals like cattle, sheep, goats, etc. and make their way into the fat stores of the animals. Therefore, the milk fat and the fat within the meat of these animals can provide natural healthy trans fats.

Natural trans fats in your diet have been thought to have some potential benefit to aid in both muscle building and fat loss efforts. However, keep in mind that the quantity of healthy trans fats in the meat and dairy of ruminant animals is greatly reduced by mass-production methods of farming and their grain and soy heavy diets. Meat and dairy from grass-fed, free-range animals always have much higher quantities of these beneficial fats.

One such natural trans fat that you may have heard of is called conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) and has been marketed by many weight loss companies. Keep in mind that these man-made CLA pills you see in the stores may not be the best way to get CLA in your diet. They are artificially made from plant oils, instead of the natural process that happens in ruminant animals. Once again, man-made just doesn’t compare to the benefits of natural sources.

The Bad Trans Fats
The Good Trans Fats

These hydrogenated oils cause inflammation inside of your body, which signals the deposition of cholesterol as a healing agent on artery walls. Hence, hydrogenated oil = inflammation = clogged arteries. You can see why heart disease has exploded since this crap has been loaded into our food supply over the last 5 to 6 decades. As time goes on, and science continues to unveil how deadly these oils really are, I feel that eventually they will be illegal and banned from use. The labeling laws were just the first step. In fact, certain countries around the world have already banned the use of hydrogenated oils in food manufacturing or at least set dates to phase them out for good.

I hope you can take just one piece of information from this article to make better decisions. Most of the time people just don’t know the difference, I never did. However, this is your chance to empower yourself and create the body of your dreams.

Anorexic Teenagers Can Overcome Their Eating Disorder And Empower Their Life

images-25

Teen anorexia and eating disorders have been on the rise. So many people don’t truly understand the term “Anorexic”, they feel it is only about the need to be skinny. Teenage boys and girls dealing with anorexia can empower their lives over this disorder. Even when I weighed over 500 pounds before losing 300 pounds of fat, I can assure you mentally there must be a shift in thinking.

Teen anorexia is characterized by a significant weight loss resulting from excessive dieting. Most teen anorexic girls and an increasing number of teenage boys are motivated by the strong desire to be thin and a fear of becoming obese.

Anorexic teens consider themselves to be fat, no matter what their actual weight is. Often teen anorexics do not recognize they are underweight and may still “feel fat” at 80 lbs. Teen anorexics close to death will show you on their bodies where they feel they need to lose weight. In their attempts to become even thinner, the teenage anorexic will avoid food and taking in calories at all costs, which can result in death. An estimated 10 to 20% will eventually die from complications related to it.

Teen anorexics usually strive for perfection. These teenagers set very high standards for themselves and feel they always have to prove their competence. The teen anorexic usually always puts the needs of others ahead of their own needs. A teenage girl or boy with anorexia may also feel the only control they have in their lives is in the area of food and weight.

If they can’t control what is happening around them, they can control their weight. Each morning the number on the scale will determine whether or not they have succeeded or failed in their goal for thinness. They feel powerful and in control when they can make themselves lose weight. Sometimes focusing on calories and losing weight is their way of blocking out feelings and emotions.

For teenagers, it’s easier to diet then it is to deal with their problems directly. Teen anorexics usually have low self-esteem and sometimes feel they don’t deserve to eat. Teenage anorexics usually deny that anything is wrong. Hunger is strongly denied. They usually resist any attempts to help them because the idea of therapy is seen only as a way to force them to eat. Once these teens admit they have a problem and are willing to seek help, they can be treated effectively through a combination of psychological, nutritional and medical care.

We at Tollie’s Out of the Darkness Project strive to empower teenage anorexics. Creating a positive
and fast mental shift from lack of control to complete empowering control. Teen anorexia so many times is seen as only the goal of being thin. However, mentally there is a goal of confidence, control, and beauty. Teenagers struggling with anorexia or any eating disorder can create a new dream world for themselves. Empower quick and positive change, while creating a dream-infused life.

I am going to continue bringing new ideas and suggestions. I did run across an article about a mom who has developed a at home program. This mom who had a teenage daughter who almost lost her life to anorexia, battled back with mental empowerment and knowledge. So if you are a parent reading this I encourage you to read this short article from this doctor. I will also, include the link to this mother’s story for you. Just know, teens are amazing, because they still dream and a dreamer can overcome anything! Tollie…

Home Treatment for Eating Disorders.

As a doctor I have worked with many women struggling with eating disorders. I also a former suffer of anorexia and bulimia myself (this was a main reason why I decided to learn everything I can about these conditions and help other people to recover from it).

I believe that most eating disorders are learned behavior. It can therefore be unlearned. By behavior I mean not only actions but thought process and attitudes as well. As with many behavioral problems, early detection often speeds up the recovery.

Those who admit their eating problem in the early stage and are frightened that they might continue – often are able to change their destructive eating habits with relative ease.

Many of the sufferers I see have already had years of individual psychotherapy. Often their therapists have focused on deep-seated underlying causes, which did not help the women with the here and now. Some sufferers have continued to feel bizarre and alone, even though they were told that their behavior was not uncommon. And there are some who never admitted to their secret eating behavior.

Some therapists favor group therapy but I have found that group therapy are good and helpful until only the certain stage of recovery – the stage of admitting that “Yes, I do have a problem and I do need help.” Than, to continue with treatment people should come to group therapy again and again. And here is what happens – they all become friends and get close to each other and understand each other. But to continue with the group you have be a member of it , to say another words you have to stay the same. Other ways if you recover you have to leave, but it is difficult for most of them and they prefer just stay the same.

While it is generally true that women in the early stages of eating disorder recover faster, two factors seem far more relevant. The first involves the level of commitment to change. Second, but of equal importance, are the strategies she employs to overcome eating disorder. What can she do in the face of anxiety?

What can she substitute for binge eating? If the woman can call upon more productive strategies to cope with the stresses of daily life, she is on her way to recovery. The commitment to initiate and maintain personal growth through alternative behaviors is therefore crucial.

The best treatment strategy, in my opinion, is when a person has a special recovery program to follow at home. But this is important to be very persistent and consistent with this kind of program so the role of therapist is actually to make sure that the patient is doing it every day and everything is clear regarding the program.

The best program I recommend my patients is made by Karen Phillips (the lady who treated her daughter from terrible anorexia and bulimia by herself). She wrote a book about the method “Mom Please Help.”

It is very interesting method which helped many people to recover.

Are You Being Outrageous Enough?

Photobucket
Recently I created an article on “Marketing Secrets”
One of the more talked about secrets
stated that people will believe a wild claim if it is just
side of believable.

Some people thought I was going overboard on that one. I
wasn’t. People will believe just about anything, and the
sooner you accept, the sooner you can profit from it.

Want proof? Let me march in just a little of the colorful
evidence:

Exhibit A: In 1749 two noble Englishmen wanted to prove
that people would pay to see the absurd. They ran an ad
that claimed a man would appear on stage in one week. Said
man would then jump into a common wine bottle. While
inside, he would sing. Did people respond to the ad? The
public stormed the theater. Hundreds stood outside, unable
to get in due to the crowd. When nothing happened, they
rioted, trashed the theater, carried debris into the street
and burned it all. They were really mad.

Exhibit B: In the mid-1800s P.T. Barnum displayed a mermaid
at his museum. How did the public respond? His ticket sales
tripled. (Tripled!) It didn’t matter that the “mermaid” was
an obvious manufacture, a weird blend of monkey and fish.
People wanted to see it and decide for themselves what it
was. Get that: They WANTED to see it.

Exhibit C: When a circus in the mid-1950s said they had a
unicorn on display, fifty percent more people came to see
the show. (FIFTY percent more sales!) How can you argue
with a fifty percent increase in business? Were the people
stupid? No. They were CURIOUS.

Exhibit D: When a network television show in the 1980s
aired an “alien autopsy,” ratings increased. Surely people
didn’t think they were about to see a REAL alien! Or did
they? Maybe they just HOPED to see one.

Exhibit E: ln Texas Hill Country I was at a while back,
a small town called Wimberley. In late
there was a bold headline on a local
newspaper: “UFO LANDS IN WIMBERLEY!” Did we think a UFO
really landed near us? No. Did we pick up the newspaper?
Yes. In fact, we grabbed extra copies to give to family and
friends. We also agreed that if we were going to advertise
in any newspaper, it would be THAT one. What did the
headlines on the other newspapers that day say? I have no
idea. Who cares?

Look. People are fascinated by the outrageous. They want to
believe in aliens, ghosts, mermaids and more. They want to
watch a man sing from inside a wine bottle and see a pony
with a horn on its head. Who can blame them, really? Don’t
those scenarios sound exciting?

Come on. Admit it. Which would you rather see: A pony or a
unicorn? A wine bottle or a man in it singing? A fish or a
mermaid? Another boring show on TV or the world’s first
alien autopsy?

Most people in business simply aren’t outrageous enough.
This doesn’t mean you should mislead your customers, but
you can certainly entertain them with something
unbelievable—but possible.

Maybe the real question is this: Are you being outrageous
enough for your customers and clients?

If you aren’t, you’re probably disappointing them.

Think about it.

Right now I have to go on our neighborhood UFO watch. It’s
my turn to hold the flashlight.
