2 Ways That CORN Can Kill You

I know that subject heading may sound shocking, and almost impossible.

And of course...eating some corn flakes or tortilla chips on occasion are NOT
going to put you on your death bed (although they're NOT helping with getting
lean either!)

But, hang with me for a minute, and I'll show you 2 indirect ways that corn CAN
kill.

First, let's relate this back to our screwed up food supply...

If you've been reading my newsletters and my books,
you've probably heard me
preach a gazillion times by now about how important
grass-fed meats and dairy
are compared to typical corn-fed meats/dairy that
comprises 99% of what is
available at your typical grocery stores
or restaurants.

But I've found that a lot of people don't fully
understand how vastly important
this single aspect of our food supply really is.
You can tell them that
grass-fed is healthier for them than grain-fed,
but most people still have this
attitude of...  "who cares, it's all the same".

OHHHHHH NO MY FRIEND, IT'S NOT THE SAME!

So let's get into the first deadly scenerio
that is CAUSED by corn...

We already know that cattle are designed by nature to eat grass and other
forage... their stomachs were not designed to handle eating large amounts of
corn.

But because of our screwed-up farming practices which originate solely from the
economics of cheap corn and factory farming, the vast majority of our beef comes
from factory farmed cattle that were force-fed corn for their entire existance,
instead of being allowed to eat their natural food, grass.

Since their stomachs were not designed to properly digest corn, their digestive
system essentially gets sick, and this allows dangerous bugs such as E-COLI to
proliferate.

When cattle are allowed to eat grass and other forage, E-COLI issues are almost
non-existant.

People DIE every year (particularly children and elderly are at most risk) from
E-COLI poisoning.  And even when the sicknesses and/or death from E-coli occur
from vegetables, this is usually caused by runoff from a factory corn-fed beef
farm that contaminated produce at a downstream farm.

This is just one of the reasons I almost ALWAYS eat healthy grass-fed beef and
bison instead of dangerous and unhealthy grain-fed meats.

And this is 1 of the indirect ways that corn kills.

Luckily, in most states that I've lived, I've been able to find grass-fed farms
(even some that deliver to urban areas) instead of being forced to buy low
quality meat/dairy at the grocery store. I also order grass-fed meats online at
this site below (one of my favorites, and surprisingly convenient)

Now the 2nd indirect way that corn kills has to do with it's nutritional
problems and it's prevalence in almost all of our processed food.  Let's list a
few to start:

1. Corn-fed beef produces lower nutrition levels in beef, lower healthful
omega-3 fats, and a 10-20x higher level of inflammatory omega-6 fats. The more
corn fed beef you eat, the more you're blasting your body with more inflammation
by throwing omega-6 to omega-3 ratios out of whack.

Chronic inflammation leads to eventual heart disease and possible death.



Once again... CORN KILLS.

2. Corn Oil is in a huge quantity of processed foods. Not only is this heavily
refined oil unhealthy in many other ways, but once again, it throws that natural
balance of omega-3 to omega-6 fatty acids out of whack inside your body.  Once
again, chronic inflammation can result.

3. High fructose corn syrup -- this has become a major ingredient in almost ALL
processed foods over the last couple decades. It is so prevalent in processed
foods, that it's almost impossible to avoid. Even breads, cereals, and ketchup
have HFCS now.

Knowing how lethal this "corny" syrup is to our health, I'm amazed it's not
illegal... of course, that would never happen because of the economics involved
in corn.

Long term use of HFCS can not only cause obesity, but also diabetes, premature
aging, and a host of other health issues.

Obesity and diabetes can eventually cause death.

Once again... CORN KILLS.

I know this newsletter may seem a little over-dramatic with respect to corn
being the basis of our food supply, but it's about time people start
understanding what's in our food supply and how it affects their health and
their family's health. 

Unfortunately, the majority of people don't value their health until they've
lost it. That's a sad fact that will probably always be part of human nature.

What can you do?

The best thing you can do is to CONTINUALLY educate yourself and your family on
nutrition. Study everything you can get your hands on about nutrition. Read and
understand labels. Choose organic. Choose all unprocessed foods at least 95% of
the time.

Your Body Takes Thoughts Literally

The theory of relativity showed us that time and space are intertwined. To which our smarty-pants body might well reply: Tell me something I didn’t already know, Einstein.

Researchers at the University of Aberdeen found that when people were asked to engage in a bit of mental time travel, and to recall past events or imagine future ones, participants’ bodies subliminally acted out the metaphors embedded in how we commonly conceptualized the flow of time.

As they thought about years gone by, participants leaned slightly backward, while in fantasizing about the future, they listed to the fore. The deviations were not exactly Tower of Pisa leanings, amounting to some two or three millimeters’ shift one way or the other. Nevertheless, the directionality was clear and consistent.

“When we talk about time, we often use spatial metaphors like ‘I’m looking forward to seeing you’ or ‘I’m reflecting back on the past,’ ” said Lynden K. Miles, who conducted the study with his colleagues Louise K. Nind and C. Neil Macrae. “It was pleasing to us that we could take an abstract concept such as time and show that it was manifested in body movements.”

The new study, published in January in the journal Psychological Science, is part of the immensely popular field called embodied cognition, the idea that the brain is not the only part of us with a mind of its own.

“How we process information is related not just to our brains but to our entire body,” said Nils B. Jostmann of the University of Amsterdam. “We use every system available to us to come to a conclusion and make sense of what’s going on.”

Research in embodied cognition has revealed that the body takes language to heart and can be awfully literal-minded.

You say a person is warm and likable, as opposed to cold and standoffish? In one recent study at Yale, researchers divided 41 college students into two groups and casually asked the members of Group A to hold a cup of hot coffee, those in Group B to hold iced coffee. The students were then ushered into a testing room and asked to evaluate the personality of an imaginary individual based on a packet of information.

Students who had recently been cradling the warm beverage were far likelier to judge the fictitious character as warm and friendly than were those who had held the iced coffee.

Or maybe you are feeling the chill wind of social opprobrium. When researchers at the University of Toronto instructed a group of 65 students to remember a time when they had felt either socially accepted or socially snubbed, those who conjured up memories of a rejection judged the temperature of the room to be an average of five degrees colder than those who had been wrapped in warm and fuzzy thoughts of peer approval.

The body embodies abstractions the best way it knows how: physically. What is moral turpitude, an ethical lapse, but a soiling of one’s character? Time for the Lady Macbeth Handi Wipes. One study showed that participants who were asked to dwell on a personal moral transgression like adultery or cheating on a test were more likely to request an antiseptic cloth afterward than were those who had been instructed to recall a good deed they had done.

When confronted with a double entendre, a verbal fork in the road, the body heeds Yogi Berra’s advice, and takes it. In a report published last August in Psychological Science, Dr. Jostmann and his colleagues Daniel Lakens and Thomas W. Schubert explored the degree to which the body conflates weight and importance. They learned, for example, that when students were told that a particular book was vital to the curriculum, they judged the book to be physically heavier than those told the book was ancillary to their studies.

The researchers wanted to know whether the sensation of weightiness might influence people’s judgments more broadly.

In a series of experiments, study participants were asked to answer questionnaires that were attached to a metal clipboard with a compartment on the back capable of holding papers. In some cases the compartments were left empty, and so the clipboard weighed only 1.45 pounds. In other cases the compartments were filled, for a total clipboard package of 2.29 pounds.

Participants stood with either a light or heavy clipboard cradled in their arm, filling out surveys. In one, they were asked to estimate the value of six unfamiliar foreign currencies. In another, students indicated how important they thought it was that a university committee take their opinions into account when deciding on the size of foreign study grants. For a third experiment, participants were asked how satisfied they were with (a) the city of Amsterdam and (b) the mayor of Amsterdam.

In every study, the results suggested, the clipboard weight had its roundabout say. Students holding the heavier clipboard judged the currencies to be more valuable than did those with the lightweight boards. Participants with weightier clipboards insisted that students be allowed to weigh in on the university’s financial affairs. Those holding the more formidable board even adopted a more rigorous mind-set, and proved more likely to consider the connection between the livability of Amsterdam and the effectiveness of its leader.

As Dr. Jostmann sees it, the readiness of the body to factor physical cues into its deliberations over seemingly unrelated and highly abstract concerns often makes sense. Our specific clipboard savvy notwithstanding, “the issue of how humans view gravity is evolutionarily useful,” he said.

“Something heavy is something you should take care of,” he continued. “Heavy things are not easily pushed around, but they can easily push us around.” They are weighty affairs in every tine of the word.

The cogitating body prefers a hands-on approach, and gesturing has been shown to help children master math.

Among students who have difficulty with equations like 4 + 5 + 3 = __ + 3, for example, performance improves markedly if they are taught the right gestures: grouping together the unique left-side numbers with a two-fingered V, and then pointing the index finger at the blank space on the right.

To learn how to rotate an object mentally, first try a pantomime. “If you encourage kids to do the rotation movement with their hands, that helps them subsequently do it in their heads,” said Susan Goldin-Meadow of the University of Chicago, “whereas watching others do it isn’t enough.”

Yesterday is regrettable, tomorrow still hypothetical. But you can always listen to your body, and seize today with both hands.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has released a report
stating that the number of people who experience depression
is doubling every ten years and that by 2020 it will be the
most pervasive illness in the world and the second leading
cause of death. WHO also states that depression currently
ranks second only to heart disease as the leading cause of
disabilities associated with illness.

Unfortunately, depression will touch almost every single
person during their lifetimes. They will either experience
it themselves or know someone who has. Those who do
experience depression may suffer its hideous effects for
decades or even for a lifetime. 

Why is depression currently so pervasive? Furthermore, why
is the number of people who will experience it projected to
increase at such a rapid rate? But, most importantly, is
there a method for overcoming it?

Doctors can’t agree on the cause of depression. Some say it
is a chemical imbalance, while others claim it is a genetic
problem. Some label it a disease the same as diabetes or
hypertension. There are others who believe that depression
is a “learned behavior.”

The most common treatment for depression today is therapy
coupled with antidepressant medication. This can become
costly and time consuming without much success. The question
becomes… Why isn’t treatment producing the desired results
and decreasing the number of people who are depressed?

Some people do experience an improved mood when they are
prescribed antidepressants. But, think about this… any
mind-altering drug, including antidepressants, has the
potential to produce a positive improvement in mood. Is the
improved mood one experiences while taking antidepressants
proof that they had a chemical imbalance to begin with? Not
in light of the above statement.

Let’s face it, if therapy and antidepressants were the
answers, we wouldn’t have so many depressed people in our
society today and the number of people suffering its
debilitating effects wouldn’t be on the rise.

What is pro-ana? There are different interpretations of the term pro-ana, and yet, people use them interchangeably, without making distinctions between different websites. Anorexia and Bulimia are often referred to as “Ana” for Anorexia and “Mia” for Bulimia, even giving these disorders names does not cover up the very real horrors involved.

Horrors of Ana

Anorexia Nervosa

  • Starvation can damage vital organs such as the brain and heart. Heart disease is the most common cause of death associated with anorexia. The risk of heart problems increase if anorexia is compounded by bulimia.
  • The result of hormonal abnormalities is long-term, irregular or absent menstruation. This can occur early on in anorexia, even before severe weight loss. Over time, this may cause infertility.
  • Loss of bone minerals (osteopenia) and loss of bone density (osteoporosis) is a common result of low estrogen levels in women with anorexia. To protect itself, the body shifts into “slow gear.”
  • Breathing, pulse and blood pressure rates drop.
  • Thyroid function slows.
  • Nails and hair become brittle.
  • Skin gets dry, yellows and becomes covered with soft hair called lanugo.
  • Excessive thirst and urination may occur.
  • Anorexia contributes to constipation.
  • Reduced body fat leads to lowered body temperatures and an inability to withstand cold weather.
  • Mild anemia, swollen joints, reduced muscle mass, and light-headed ness also commonly occur in anorexic individuals.
  • In some patients, the brain shrinks, causing personality changes. Fortunately, this condition can be reversed when normal weight is re-established.
  • Scientists have found that many patients with anorexia also suffer from other psychiatric illnesses. While the majority have co-occurring clinical depression, others suffer from anxiety, personality or substance-abuse disorders, and many are at risk for suicide. Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), an illness characterized by repetitive thoughts and behaviors, can also accompany anorexia.
  • Individuals with anorexia are typically compliant in personality but may have sudden outbursts of hostility and anger or become socially withdrawn.

  • Even those of normal weight, can severely damage their bodies by frequent binge eating and purging.
  • In rare instances, binge eating causes the stomach to rupture.
  • Purging may result in heart failure due to loss of vital minerals such as potassium.
  • The acid in vomit wears down the outer layer of the teeth.
  • Scarring occurs on the backs of hands when fingers are pushed down the throat to induce vomiting.
  • The esophagus becomes inflamed and glands near the cheeks become swollen.
  • It can lead to irregular menstrual periods.
  • Interest in sex may diminish.
  • Some individuals with bulimia struggle with addictions, including abuse of drugs and alcohol, and compulsive stealing.
  • Like individuals with anorexia, many people with bulimia suffer from clinical depression, anxiety, OCD and other psychiatric illnesses. These problems, combined with their impulsive tendencies, place these persons at increased risk for suicidal behavior.

Teen Workout Video Ages 10 to 17

Here is a teen workout appropriate for people ages 10-17. Contrary to myths you might have heard, working out IS good for teens and it wont stunt growth. This is a 45min upper body workout you will do 2-3 times a week. There are seven exercises to workout pecs, lats, triceps, biceps and abs. These exercises are self spotting which means you can do them safely alone. You will perform all these exercises in the order shown, then repeat the whole thing two more times so that you end up doing three sets of every exercise.
chest: pushups, flys, dumbbell press
lats: pullups, rows
abs: crunches
biceps: curls
triceps: french press
For each exercise we want to do between 8 and 15 reps. First, we are always going to lift slowly, 2s up and 2s down [demo with count]. If you can do more than 15 of these slow reps then its too easy for you and you need use more weight. If you cant do 8 slow reps then you are using too much weight and you are likely to get injured.

Getting girls to feel an attraction for you – that isn’t simply based on your looks, the contents of your wallet or the car you’ve got parked outside – can be really tricky.

After all, how are men supposed to know what each girl’s looking for without asking?

If you DID ask, you know your chances would be small, after all, no girl wants a guy approaching her with needy questions – she wants a confident man who somehow seems to know what she’s after and can give it to her.

So how do you do it?

How do you become the man that effortlessly exudes confidence, dominance and presence, without turning into an arrogant poser or desperate wannabe?

The answer lies in psychology. It’s at the heart of all persuasive social situations, and absolutely central to the success of any guy’s attempts at attracting and seducing women. Quite simply, by learning the CORRECT psychological rules, principles and tactics, any guy can play and WIN at the game of seduction. For example, let’s look at one such psychological technique, that used correctly boosts any guy’s chance of getting a girl’s number or hooking up with her at a later date by at  least 50%, each and every time he uses it. It’s called option limitation and works on the following principle of human nature:

When someone’s presented with only a single choice, often their natural reaction will be to rebel against it and go their own way. However, when given 2 or 3 options, the opposite occurs: they feel their intellectual freedom has been respected and they make their choice from the variety of options they’ve been presented with.

You can use this universal psychological principle when picking-up or seducing a woman by carefully constructing how you pose important questions or phrases while talking to her.

For example, most men think saying: “Can I have your number?” is an okay way to finish a conversation that’s gone well with a girl. But a much more powerful and effective way of saying the same thing would be to use option limitation. Something like: “It’s been nice to meet you. Shall we swap numbers or maybe grab a bite to eat and a drink tomorrow?” What you’re doing is presenting the girl with a choice between good and better – whichever she says yes to, you win. If you only give her one option, as in the first example, she’s likely to create her own alternative, which means there’s a chance she won’t say yes to the option you gave her. When she subconsciously recognises that she’s been given a choice between multiple outcomes, she feels her intellectual freedom has been respected and she chooses one of them.

So, always use option limitation to give the impression there’s a variety of options available to the girl – even though each one is fine as far as you’re concerned. And to strengthen the effect of option limitation, always try to separate the choices you give the girl with the word “or.”  When people hear “or” they automatically recognise that they need to make a choice, and therefore do just that.

Option limitation is just one example of how, whether they know it or not, men who are successful with women CREATE that success for themselves – not through luck or good fortune.

There’s something that often happens when you’re out playing the ‘seduction game’ – that is, when you’re actively looking out for girls you think you’d like to hook-up with. Many men have experienced it, and many thousands of men still do experience it when they themselves are out playing the game. It usually goes something like this: you’re in a group, talking to a couple of girls. You’re with a friend or two, perhaps having drinks in a bar or at a party. You’ve got your eye on one girl in the group in particular and want to make something happen, make a bit of a connection. Thing is, she’s proving the hardest to connect to – sure, she smiles and talks to you nicely and politely, but she’s not returning your flirtatious gestures and comments much, if at all. It’s like she’s playing hard to get or something, whereas her female friends seem to be much more playful and flirty.

This doesn’t happen because you aren’t her type or just because sometimes these things happen (or don’t) – there’s a different, special reason the girl you’re interested in doesn’t appear to be interested in you and it’s got a lot to do with psychology and social standing. You see, when you show you’re interested in a good-looking girl who’s with her friends, you inadvertently bump up her ego and feeling of self-worth. She knows you’ve chosen and are most interested in her and likes this feeling of elevated importance. However, she also knows that if she reacts by becoming really flirty and obviously attracted to YOU, she’ll lose the higher social value she has over her friends (probably the reason you targeted her in the first place), so she therefore maintains her unattainable, “I’m a bit too good for you” status.

However, you can blow this problem out of the water by using DEFLECTION THEORY. You turn the situation on its head and reverse the psychology of your target female by deflecting your attention AWAY from her and ONTO one or more of her friends. When you show her friends (who have lower social value/worth than your target female) more attention and affection, you challenge her ego. So, in an effort to regain her superiority in the hierarchy of her circle of friends, the girl you’re really interested in will subconsciously invest much MORE interest in you by flirting and being playful. As so many women do, she gives into wanting what she feels she cannot have – and, of course, you’ll be happy to have her. She is, after all, the hottest of the group and the one you wanted in the first place. Here’s how to deflect your attention onto one of her friends to make her (the girl you want) feel as if her ego has been challenged and thus make her feel an instant and undeniable desire to get your attention and “win” you back.

1. Use strong eye contact when talking to all of the girls. However, when you’re talking to your target female, occasionally glance away and towards one of the other girls (who will probably be talking amongst themselves or to your friend/friends if you’re with any) and give a slight smile before looking back at your target. This jackhammers a sense of competition into the subconscious mind of the girl you’re really interested in and immediately makes her want to fight for your attention.

2. Casually make physical contact with her friends more than her. For example, touch them on the side of their arm to get their attention or when laughing and joking.

3. When sitting down or standing around talking as a group, face slightly more (as in, the direction of your body/torso) in the direction of one of her friends more than her.

Using deflection theory to challenge a girl you’re interested in’s ego and therefore make her want you more is just one psychological technique you can use to boost your pick-up game. Combine it with others and you maximize your success with the opposite sex in ways most men have and never will experience. You can be the guy that gets the girl!
