The Purpose of Life School Never Teaches
I run into people on occasion who seem to sit back in the philosophical burkalounger of thoughts and ideas, and ponder the age old question; “What is the Purpose of Life?” “Why are we here?” Personally, I feel the question everyone first answer in order to feel life’s spark, is simply, what do I want to accomplish, create, do, before I die?
Perhaps its a journey to find ones self, or simply recognize a purpose, a tangible item to which we can tie a value of our life to. We begin a journey in school, where nowadays we are in a self esteem revolution, everyone is special, everyone is a participant. The idea of winner or losers is as extinct a time honored tradition as old as the gladiators themselves.
I want my life to be of service to as many others as possible. Every project, product, and vision is developed around the individual, how can we create something to empower others. This is my passion, its people. Using my talents and gifts in order to live all my dreams while opening the door for as many others to live theirs as well.
We are asked, what do we want to do when we grow up, who do we want to be, and then told, that as long as we work hard, play by the rules, get a good education, we can achieve all of our dreams. Then why is it that so many people never do reach one single dream they set out to obtain, and then a very small group seems to get everything and more. Is it fair?
“We become masters of our life through the same long term step by step process. There are simple practices for wealth and for poverty, for health and sickness, and for good relationships and bad ones.” -Phyllis Lane (Author: 10,000 Hours)
Last night I uploaded a little video promo of Tollie’s idream Project. This is one of many projects and visions I have which are starting to come to life. People that I have shared details of the idream Project with see something amazing, ground breaking, a pinnacle of hard work paying off. Yet, the truth, is Tollie’s idream Project is so small in scale and reach compared to many of my dreams and goals. However, it serves as a very aggressive stepping stone in order to build and compound quickly upon success to create new projects. How quickly did this happen? How did school prepare me for this opportunity?
School doesn’t prepare you for any of this. You see education takes many forms, a man with a piece of paper declaring a proficiency and degree in any field of study is no more qualified or talented than a man who has worked, studied, and shown excellence in the same field. You must first create the mindset of daily seeking knowledge and a thirst for learning. All things which are possible must first be created and believed within your mind. Then you must create a mind map of how to get from your initial dream or idea into reality.
No matter your educational background, or degree, everyone is an actor, salesman, teacher, and student many times throughout their lives. In order to create a dream we must first find a way to pay for it, and if we are going to ask people to invest their money into our idea, we must provide value, and a profit. This is the point where 99% of peoples dreams simply stop and never get past this point. Many times before they have even heard their first rejection or “no”. Personally, “no” to me is merely a starting point, a negotiation, and more importantly a challenge. Did you know, that in our society we have been conditioned to automatically answer “no” to new ideas, or requests. So many times answering the question, “What is Life” or the purpose of life is merely a response to not being able to achieve a measurable amount of success toward your dreams or goals, and now your questioning a much larger, broader variable. Did you not study this in school?
You must take your dream and idea strip it down into compartments, much like a corporation would have divisions handle specific areas of their business. You must learn how to package your idea, how to brand it, market it. You must find qualified investors with a track record in investing in similar ideas or products. You must be willing to rework your idea and find the skills, and education you need to achieve those goals.
Tollie’s Daily Mojo today is simple, get the knowledge and tools to create change. Spark that initial flame of a new passion and energy for your life, because life is all about feeling, experiencing, giving, loving, and none of the true fulfillment will ever be made possible through a little blue pill. Real change comes from within, you are a product of your thoughts, so let’s redefine your philosophy and thinking.
Im sure you’ve heard very successful people who have made their own fortunes, say; “The first million dollars was the hardest to earn.” Of course it is, because working towards that first success you are making mistakes, learning how to market, sale, discipline yourself, find answers to questions you’ve never been asked. And yes, working hours upon hours for no pay. There was a great book, which covered successful entrepreneurs we all know such as Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, and several others. After his research he outlined how, they never achieved fast success, on the contrary they had failure after failure, and hours upon hours trying to rework their idea into a success. What the author found is the common line was it seemed to happen around their 10,000th hour. (Learn More: 10,000 Hours: You Become What You Practice) Think about that, 10,000 hours of hard unpaid, uncompensated, work before their initial success.
Yet, for some their dreams revolve around a talent which they’ve used their whole life, and many times a ability they were born with. A singer, songwriter, actor, etc., This is what Tollie’s idream Project is being created for. The opportunity for these individuals to showcase their talent. Without great details, we are providing the opportunity, the chance. Tollie’s idream Project is our hard work, and ideas being brought to reality. Creating an open door for as many of you to live your dreams. The whole idea behind our company Tollie International is we breathe life into your ideas & dreams.
